About Furniture Tree

In 1984 we purchased the Manawatu Kitset Centre in Church Street (down by the Fire Station in Palmerston North). I can remember assembling the furniture in the evening and delivering it to our contract painter before opening the store in the morning. In 1985 we moved into 133 Rangitikei Street as Pine and Kitset Shop, installing our own spray booth and workshop area.

We stocked the Brandon Brand and Miami kitset furniture ranges as well as a wide range of solid pine furniture—both raw and finished. We had a team of guys assembling, sanding and finishing the furniture. We offered hundreds of colours and the dozens of stain colours. We also had quite a range of native timber furniture at that time, but milling restrictions meant that the price and availability became too prohibitive for us to offer it any more

In 1992 we moved up the road to 175 Rangitikei St installing a much improved workshop and spray booth. In 1995 we re-branded to D'zine Furniture

We now sell fully finished timber furniture at about two thirds of the price of what raw kitset furniture used to be Our customers now find that fully finished furniture at the right price is a preferred option.

We now travel overseas regularly developing ranges with our suppliers. We have almost 100% exclusive products which we believe are well made and represent great quality.

We are direct importers dealing directly with the factory - not with the middleman. We do have several New Zealand suppliers too to give an excellent mix of choice.

We specialise in individual pieces as well as suites. You can buy one bedsider or just a tallboy, a chair, a side table or a bookcase

We import our own mattresses. We’ve now got a great range which compares extremely well with other stores in town.

To all of you, from all of us at Furniture Tree - Thank you and Happy Shopping!
