Bed Frames in Auckland - know what's in the price.
The same bed can appear three times at three prices, depending on whether it comes with storage underneath and a mattress on top. Here's how to tell which one you're looking at.
BED FRAMES AUCKLAND
One bed. Three prices.
The short answer
Our Luna in queen appears three times in this range. As a frame on its own, as a frame with gas-lift storage underneath, and as a frame with a Dream Plush mattress included. Same bed, same size — the price follows what comes with it.
This is where online price comparison falls apart. Two listings can carry the same name and the same size and be completely different purchases. Bed frames sit inside the wider bed shop in Auckland at Unit 12/46 Hobill Avenue, Wiri.
So before you compare anything, work out which of the three you actually want. If you already have a mattress you're happy with, the top of the ladder is money you don't need to spend.
Check one thing on every listing. Does the title say storage, and does it say with mattress? Those two words are the whole price difference.

Every frame in the range.
Upholstered beds, storage beds and bed-and-mattress sets. Each card shows whether storage and a mattress are included.

Upholstered frames
An upholstered frame gives you a padded headboard you can lean against, which matters if you read in bed. A timber headboard is fine for ten minutes and less fine for an hour.
The Aven is the entry point in this range and comes in queen, king and super king. The Luna is a heavier charcoal upholstery in queen. The Gore has a puffed headboard in green, in super king.
In this range
- Aven from $599
- Luna frame $799
- Gore $1,199
- Mattress Not included
Storage beds
A storage bed is a frame with a gas-lift compartment underneath, so you get the headboard and the storage in one purchase. It's the type our Auckland customers ask about most, because homes here have almost no linen cupboard space.
The Luna Upholstery Storage Bed comes in queen, king and super king. Before you order, check nothing overhangs the head of the bed - a low window sill or wall shelf can stop the lid opening fully.
In this range
- Queen $999
- King $1,049
- Super king $1,099

Beds with a mattress included
If you need both, buying them together costs less than buying them apart. The Luna Bed with Dream Plush Mattress comes in queen, king and super king, and the Dallas King Bed and Mattress is a set deal.
Worth knowing: the mattress in these sets is chosen for you. If you want to pick the firmness yourself, buy the frame from this page and the mattress separately, then try the ranges side by side in Wiri before you decide.
In this range
- Luna queen $1,549
- Luna king $1,599
- Luna super king $1,649
- Mattress Dream Plush
Sizes in this range
The beds on this page come in queen, king and super king. If you need a single or a double, ask the Wiri team what's on the floor — sizes move in and out of the range and not everything is listed online at any given moment.
Whichever size you choose, plan the room from the frame dimensions on the product listing rather than from the mattress size. A frame with a surround always takes more width than the mattress inside it.

Frames can be changed
Many of our bed frames and headboards can be customised in fabric, colour or size. If a frame is right but the colour isn't, ask before you settle for something close enough — it's a common request and often possible.
Custom orders take longer than in-stock items, so factor that into a moving date. The team will give you a realistic timeframe before you commit to anything.

Delivery and assembly
Most in-stock furniture is delivered across New Zealand within five to ten business days. Frames arrive in sections and are built in the room, which makes delivery far easier than a single-piece item.
Headboards and gas-lift bases are the exception - those come as one piece and don't fold. If you have a villa staircase or a tight landing, send us a photo before you order.

Send us your room measurements.
Tell us the clear width of the room and the width of your narrowest doorway. We will check them against the actual frame dimensions before you drive over.
What our team tells people on the floor.
1 · Read the title carefully
"Storage Bed" and "with Mattress" are the two phrases that change the price. Same name, same size, different purchase.
2 · Decide on the mattress first
If you want to choose the firmness yourself, buy the frame here and the mattress separately.
3 · Look up before buying storage
A window sill or wall shelf above the bed head can stop a gas-lift lid opening fully.
4 · Lift the lid in the showroom
Gas-lift weight varies. If one person will make the bed alone, this matters more than the finish.
5 · Ask about fabric before you settle
Many frames can be made in a different colour or fabric. Worth asking rather than compromising.
6 · Plan from the frame, not the mattress
A frame with a surround always takes more width than the mattress inside it. Use the listing dimensions.

Common bed sizes in New Zealand include single, king single, double, queen, king and super king. These names refer to the mattress size the frame is designed to fit. The frame’s overall dimensions can be larger because of its headboard, upholstery or storage design. Before ordering from Furniture Tree, check both mattress compatibility and the frame’s full measurements.
A quality bed frame provides stable, even mattress support through secure joints, sturdy slats and appropriate centre support. It should feel steady during normal use when correctly assembled. When comparing bed frames at Furniture Tree, check the construction, weight capacity, mattress requirements and warranty details for the specific model.
The best bed frame depends on how you use your bedroom. Storage beds provide space for spare bedding and seasonal items, upholstered frames add a padded finish, and wooden frames offer a natural look. Explore Furniture Tree’s bed range and compare designs based on your room size, storage needs and mattress compatibility.
Well-built steel and solid hardwood frames can both provide strong support. However, material alone does not determine strength: the joints, slats, centre rail and support legs also matter. Compare the manufacturer’s stated weight capacity for each model, including whether that limit covers the mattress as well as the sleepers.
A well-constructed solid hardwood or steel frame can offer long-lasting use, but durability depends on build quality, assembly, loading and care. Upholstered frames can also be durable when their underlying structure is well made. Follow the care instructions, check fixings periodically and stay within the stated weight limit to help your bed frame last.
