The short answer
Across our range the same bed in king costs $30 to $60 more than in queen. That's the whole price difference. What king actually costs you is 14 cm of extra wall — a Denver base goes from 153 cm in queen to 167 cm in king — plus a bedding size that's harder to find on sale.
So this isn't really a budget decision. It's a room decision, and it's worth measuring before you look at prices. King beds sit inside the bed shop in Auckland at Unit 12/46 Hobill Avenue, Wiri.
The test. Measure your wall. Subtract the king frame width. If what's left divides into two gaps of 45 cm or more, you have room for bedside tables. If not, queen is the better bed for that room.
