What the mattress actually costs.
The short answer
Take the set price, subtract what the same bed costs on its own, and what is left is the mattress. On our Luna sets that number comes out the same in every size — the mattress is priced consistently whether you buy queen, king or super king.
A set is only good value if you would have chosen both halves anyway. Working out the split takes ten seconds and tells you whether you are getting a mattress deal or just a bundle. These sets sit inside the bed shop in Auckland at Unit 12/46 Hobill Avenue, Wiri.

When a set is the right call
If you're furnishing a spare room, a rental, or a first flat, a set is usually the sensible purchase. You need both halves, the price is lower than buying apart, and the two are guaranteed to fit each other.
It's also the simplest option when you're moving on a deadline. One order, one delivery, one thing to think about instead of two separate decisions and two arrival dates.
When to buy them separately
If this is the bed you'll sleep in every night for the next decade, the mattress is the half that decides how you feel in the morning. In a set, that choice has been made for you.

The Luna sets
The Luna comes with a Dream Plush mattress, in queen, king and super king. Dream Plush is our hotel-style range, made for people who prefer to sink in rather than lie on top of a mattress.
Side sleepers tend to prefer that feel, because a softer surface lets the shoulder and hip drop without pulling the spine out of line. If you sleep on your front, look at a firmer range instead.

Check the frame dimensions, not the mattress size
A queen mattress is a queen mattress, but the frame around it varies by model. Some frames sit close to the mattress footprint, others add a surround and a headboard that take noticeably more width and depth.
Every listing publishes the frame dimensions. Use those to plan the room, and measure your narrowest doorway while you're at it — that's where deliveries actually fail.
Lie on it before you commit
A set is one of the larger furniture purchases most people make, and the mattress inside it is the part you can't judge from a photograph. Ten minutes lying on one tells you more than ten reviews.
Bring the pillow you actually sleep on if you can. Pillow height changes how a mattress feels under your shoulders, and a showroom pillow won't match yours.

Any order can be split into four weekly payments at checkout, and longer-term finance is available on larger orders. Frames arrive in sections and are built in the room; assembly guides are on our site.
