Super King Beds in Auckland — measure the wall first.
This is the size where the room starts saying no. A super king frame runs 183 cm to 196 cm wide. Add a bedside table each side and you need close to three metres of wall. Here's how to check before you buy.

The short answer
Take your wall measurement. Subtract the frame width — 183 cm for a Denver base, 196 cm for a Devon storage bed. If what's left divides into two gaps of about 45 cm, you have room for bedside tables. If it doesn't, a king in that room will feel better than a super king.
Super king is the only size where we regularly talk people out of it, and not because of the price. The bed costs about $50 more than king. It's the wall that decides. These beds sit inside the bed shop in Auckland at Unit 12/46 Hobill Avenue, Wiri.
Two rooms, same bed. On a 3 metre wall a Denver super king leaves 58 cm each side — comfortable. On a 2.7 metre wall it leaves 43 cm, which is tight for a bedside table and a hand to reach past it.

The bed is cheap. The room isn't.
Our Aven is $629 in king and $679 in super king. The Luna storage bed is $1,049 and $1,099. Fifty dollars, on beds costing over a thousand. Price is almost never the reason to stay with king.
The Denver base goes from 167 cm in king to 183 cm in super king — 16 cm more. That's the number that actually decides it, and it's why we ask about the room before we talk about the bed.
The Denver base is the narrowest super king
At 183 cm wide and 208 cm deep, the Denver sits right at the mattress footprint with no surround. If your room is borderline, this is the super king that fits where the others won't — 13 cm narrower than the Devon.
It comes in black, grey and beige, and lifts on gas struts so the space underneath becomes storage. There's no headboard, so budget for one separately or plan to wall-mount.

The Devon is the widest bed we sell
At 196 cm wide and 221 cm deep, the Devon super king is the largest footprint in our range. It has a diamond-tufted headboard, gas-lift storage underneath, and plywood slats on a fixed metal frame.
Because it's also 221 cm deep, check the room in both directions. If the bed sits between two walls, depth will run out before width does — and 221 cm is 13 cm more than the Denver.
Getting it into the room
A super king mattress is a single object nearly two metres wide, and unlike the frame it doesn't come apart. That makes the hallway, the turn at the top of the stairs and the bedroom doorway the real constraints.
Frames arrive in sections and are built in the room, so they're the easy part. If you're in a villa or anything with a tight landing, send us a photo before you order rather than after.

Buying the mattress with it
A Luna in super king is $1,099 as a bed and $1,649 with a Dream Plush mattress, so the mattress works out at $550. That's the same figure as queen and king — and super king mattresses normally cost the most, so the set is at its best value in this size.
The mattress is still chosen for you. Super king is usually bought by two people who want their own space, and if you disagree on firmness that's worth solving before you buy, not after.

Bedding is the ongoing cost
Super king sheets, duvets and inners are the least common size in most shops, which means they cost more and turn up on sale less often than queen or king. Over the years you own the bed, that adds up more than the $50 you saved or spent on the frame.
It's not a reason to avoid super king. It is a reason to buy a spare set when you see one, and worth knowing before rather than after.

1 · Do the wall sum first

2 · Check depth as well as width
The Devon is 221 cm deep. Between two walls, depth runs out before width does.
3 · Borderline room? Take the base
The Denver is 13 cm narrower than the Devon. That's often the difference.
4 · Measure the doorway
The frame comes apart. The mattress doesn't, and it's nearly two metres wide.
5 · Storage buys back floor space
A super king takes a lot of the room. A lifting base returns some of it as usable storage.
6 · Buy a spare set of sheets
Super king bedding is the least common size. Grab a second set when you see one on sale.
