Height matters more than width.
The short answer Pick a unit wider than your TV, then check the height against where you actually sit. Our range runs 45 cm to 65 cm tall — a 20 cm spread that changes the whole viewing angle. Sofa seat heights sit around 42–50 cm, so a 65 cm unit puts the screen noticeably higher than a 45 cm one.
Everyone measures the wall. Almost nobody measures the height, and it is the number you notice every evening. These TV units are part of the wider furniture shop in Auckland at Unit 12/46 Hobill Avenue, Wiri.
The Akita stands 45 cm and is only 35 cm deep. The Elmont and Settler cabinets are 65 cm tall and 49–54 cm deep. Same job, very different rooms.
