Leave 60 cm clear on one side so you can walk past and make the bed. Our bed shop covers single, king single, double, queen, king and super king. Wooden bed frames, upholstered frames, headboards and gas-lift storage beds are all on the floor in Wiri. Storage beds are our most-asked-for item here, because Auckland homes have almost no linen cupboard space.

Rule of thumb: leave 60 cm on at least one side so you can walk past and make the bed.

Back sleepers want firmer support. Our mattress shopkeeps four firmness levels side by side: Dream Plush, Dream Comfort, Dream Firm and Luxe Ortho. Single, king single, double, queen, king and super king mattresses are all in stock. An NZ queen is 152 × 203 cm, so measure your frame before you order.

Side sleepers want more give at the shoulder and hip. Back sleepers want firmer support.

Sofa Store in Auckland

The most common mistake we see is buying by looks and forgetting the hallway. Measure your front door, your hallway and the tightest corner before you fall for a couch. Our sofa store carries 2 seater sofas, 3 seater sofas, corner sofas, modular sofas, recliner sofas and full sofa sets. Open-plan new builds around Flat Bush and Hobsonville usually suit a corner or modular shape. If you have kids or a dog, pick a tighter weave in a mid tone. Cream linen looks lovely for about six weeks.

Recliners: need 10–20 cm of clearance behind them to lie back.

Kitchen Furniture Store in Auckland

Kitchens in newer Auckland homes are open-plan and narrow. Round tables often work better than rectangles there, because there are no corners to walk into. Our kitchen furniture covers dining chairs, full dining sets, bench seats and bar stools. Allow 60 cm of table edge per person, and 90 to 100 cm from the table to the nearest wall so chairs can pull out. For bar stools, measure floor to the underside of your bench and take off 25 to 30 cm. That is your seat height.
