Anders Tallboy 4 drawers (Black Oak) (W79 D46 H115CM)

At 115 cm tall, this tallboy packs four drawers of storage into a footprint of 79 cm wide and 46 cm deep, which is the main appeal over a wardrobe if floor space in the bedroom is limited. It comes from the same Anders Collection as the Anders bedside and dresser, so the finish, hardware and leg style line up if you're buying more than one piece. The black colourway is a painted finish over solid oak and oak veneers, not a wood stain, and Furniture Tree describes it as a durable finish built to last the life of the piece. That's the same treatment used on the black oak bedside and dresser in this range, so the tone should match across the room. Underneath the paint is FSC-certified American white oak. The case is built with engineered mitred joints rather than plain butt joints, which keeps the corners tight and hides most of the end grain on the drawer fronts, and the hardware is described as high-quality. The tallboy stands on metal legs finished with brass feet adjusters, so it can be levelled if the floor isn't perfectly flat. This one is listed as coming mostly assembled, with the legs the main thing you attach yourself. Tools are included, and separate instructions are supplied for the tallboy specifically. If you'd rather skip that step altogether, Furniture Tree can arrange full assembly for an extra cost, arranged directly with them before you place the order. Four drawers at this height give you more storage than a bedside, without needing a full wardrobe's worth of wall space. It suits folded clothing, linen or anything you'd normally keep in a chest of drawers, and because it's tall rather than wide, it can work in a bedroom corner where a low, wide dresser wouldn't fit as easily. Given the height, it's worth checking the tallboy won't sit above a window sill or power point before you finalise where it's going. If you're furnishing the room around this piece, the Anders Collection includes a matching bedside with three drawers, available in both black oak and natural oak at $999 each, and a six-drawer dresser (W153 x D46 x H81 cm) in either finish at $2,299. This particular tallboy is only listed in the black oak finish on the Furniture Tree site. The Anders Tallboy 4 Drawer in Black Oak is $1,999, with Afterpay available as 4 interest-free payments of $499.75 for anyone eligible and over 18.
