Anders Bedside (Natural Oak) (W57 D42 H50CM)

This bedside is a shorter, separate listing from the Anders Bedside 3 Drawer, standing 50 cm high rather than 67 cm, at 57 cm wide and 42 cm deep. It's finished in natural oak, so the grain and colour you see come from the timber itself rather than paint, which is the main difference between this piece and the black oak version of the same lower bedside. The timber is FSC-certified American white oak, built as solid wood with oak veneers and engineered mitred joints at the corners rather than plain butt joints, which keeps the seams tighter and shows less end grain. Furniture Tree's own notes on the timber mention that oak can show a "medullary ray" pattern, a natural fleck or ray effect that comes from how the log is cut, and which is treated as a mark of quality timber rather than a flaw. It's the kind of detail that's visible on a natural finish like this, where paint would otherwise cover it. The hardware is described as high-quality, and the bedside stands on metal legs with brass feet adjusters, useful for levelling it on a floor that isn't perfectly flat. The product page doesn't specify the drawer or shelf configuration inside this shorter bedside, unlike the 3-drawer version. If that detail matters to your decision, it's worth checking directly with Furniture Tree before you order. It's listed as coming mostly assembled, with the legs the main part you fit yourself. Tools are included, and separate instructions are supplied. Furniture Tree can also arrange full assembly for an extra cost, sorted with them directly before your order is placed. At 50 cm high, this bedside sits lower than the 3-drawer Anders Bedside, which can suit a lower bed base or a bed with a low headboard, where a taller piece might look out of scale or sit above the mattress line. As with any bedside, measure the actual space next to your bed before ordering, particularly if the base is wide or floor space is tight. This same bedside is also available in black oak at the same size and price, if you'd prefer a more uniform, painted look over visible timber grain. The wider Anders Collection also includes the taller 3-drawer bedside at $999, a four-drawer tallboy at $1,999 and a six-drawer dresser at $2,299, all available in either black oak or natural oak. The Anders Bedside in Natural Oak is $899, with Afterpay available as 4 interest-free payments of $224.75 for anyone eligible and over 18. Furniture Tree offers shipping across the North Island and NZ-wide delivery elsewhere, including Auckland and South Auckland suburbs such as Wiri, Manukau and Manurewa. Delivery takes a minimum of 10 days once you order, with the exact timeframe confirmed based on stock and your address. A 3-year manufacturer's warranty applies. Furniture Tree has showrooms in Auckland and Palmerston North if you'd like to see the timber and scale in person. It's worth checking with the store first to confirm whether this particular piece is currently on display.
